Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Mumbai-
On arrival in Mumbai, you will get an assisted transfer to your hotel. Get freshened-up and relax for some time. The rest of the day is free for the activities of your interest. Stay overnight.
Day 2: Mumbai - Rajkot - Gondal-
On day 2, after having breakfast, you will embark on a boat. After around an hour across the Mumbai Harbor, you will reach the beautiful Elephanta Island. Here, you are going to explore the world heritage site of Elephanta caves. These Buddhist and Hindu rock-cut caves were carved between the 5th and 8th century. Back to hotel for lunch. Later, leave for sightseeing which is include the popular attractions such as the Prince of Wales Museum, the Gateway of India, Dhobi Ghat, Hanging Gardens, Mani Bhavan and Kamla Nehru Park. Move to the airport and board a flight to Rajkot. Once you arrive, directly drive towards Gondal where once you check-into the hotel, you enjoy a cultural performance and hot dinner. Stay overnight
Day 3: Gondal - Bhavnagar-
Once you have your breakfast on day 3, you are going to visit the Vintage car collection of the Maharaja of Gondal. Later, you are going to visit the popular temples and a 500- year old palace. Have lunch at your hotel. Later, you will begin your drive towards Bhavnagar (250 kms). Once you reach, complete the check-in formalities at your hotel. Stay overnight.
Day 4: Bhavnagar – Palitana - Ahmedabad-
After having your breakfast, you will hit the road to go towards to Ahmedabad (250 kms). On the way, you are going to halt at Palitana, which is one of the most important holy sites of the followers of Jainism. The Jain temples of Palitana, located on Mount Shatrunjaya are around 863 in number. Relish lunch at the Vijay Vilas Palace, near Palitana. Later, continue driving towards Ahmedabad. Once you reach there, check into your pre-booked hotel. If time and energy permits, you can explore the surroundings on foot. Stay overnight.
Day 5 of the tour is for sightseeing in Ahmedabad. The first visit will be the Jama Masjid, built by Ahmed Shah in 1424. The next visit will be Sidi Sayyad's Mosque that has beautiful delicate latticework on the windows. The last attraction will be Calico Museum of Textiles that houses some of the finest collection of textiles and antiques in the world. Dinner and stay overnight.
Day 6: Ahmedabad - Mount Abu-
Have an early morning breakfast and driving to Mount Abu (230 kms). On the way you are going to visit three attractions. First will be the Sun temple at Modhera built in 1026 A.D that is an architectural marvel. Next will be the famous Jain temples and Rani ki vav- a Queen’s step well in Patan. The last visit on the way will be the havelis erected by Vohra community of Sidhpur where you will enjoy a guided walk. Have lunch at the hotel Balaram Palace in Balaram. Once you arrive in Mount Abu, check into your hotel. Enjoy sightseeing today including Nakki Lake, Dilwara temple and Sunset point. Stay overnight.
Day 7: Mount Abu - Udaipur-
Begin your road journey to Udaipur, through Ranakpur. This place is well-known for its Jain Temple, one of the most beautiful ones. Built during the 15th century, this temple has 29 halls with 1444 pillars, none of which are identical. Another visit will be the Sun Temple that was erected during the 13th century. Enjoy lunch at Maharani Bagh. Later, continue to Udaipur. On arrival, check-into your hotel. If time and energy permits, you can explore the surroundings on foot. Stay overnight.
Today after having breakfast, you are going to take a city tour of Udaipur. Visit the City Palace that has rooms with mirrored wall, colored glass windows, ivory doors and marble balconies; as well as the Peacock Courtyard. Next in line is Sahelion-ki-Bari, a beautiful garden. After lunch, you are going to enjoy a boat cruise on very famous Lake Pichola. While cruising, enjoy a view of the majestic surroundings. Do not miss visiting the Jag Mandir Palace, a mesmerizing palace built on an island in the middle of the lake. Stay overnight.
Have your breakfast and get transferred Jaipur, by flight. On arrival, check into your pre-booked hotel. Leave for visiting the Amber Fort where you are going to enjoy a joy ride on an elephant’s back. Situated on a hilltop, this temple has several structures inside the palace such as Sila devi temple and Ganesh Pol. After lunch, you will visit the remaining attractions such as the Jantar Mantar Observatory, the City Palace and the Museum as well as Hawa Mahal, also or the Palace of Winds. Dinner and night stay in the hotel.
Have your breakfast and hit the road to go to Agra. On the way, stop to visit the old deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri, erected by Mughal Emperor Akbar which he also made his capital for some time. Do not miss Bulund Darwaza, the world’s largest gateway. Later, check into your pre-booked hotel. If time and energy permits, you can explore the surroundings. Stay overnight.
The 11th day of the tour is for Agra sightseeing. The first visit of the day will be Taj Mahal, a white-colored marble mausoleum built by Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Next in line will be an architectural masterpiece Agra fort, also known as Red Fort. The other visits of the day will be the tomb of Itmad ud Daulah- commissioned by his daughter Noor Jahan and Sikandra- mausoleum of Akbar, whose construction started during his lifetime. Attend a magic show at your hotel in the evening. Overnight in Agra.
Day 12: Agra - Jhansi - Orchha - Khajuraho-
Have your breakfast and get transferred to the railway station to board a train to Jhansi. On arrival, you will hit the road to go to Orchha, founded in the 15th century by Bundela chief, Rudra Pratap Singh. Here, you will visit Jehangiri Mahal, commissioned by Raja Bir Singh Deo in the memory Mughal Emperor Jehangir, Laxminarayan temple and the Raj Mahal containing beautiful frescoes and mural paintings. Later, drive towards Khajuraho. On arriving, check-in at your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 13: Khajuraho - Varanasi-
In the morning, leave for the sightseeing of the world-renowned Khajuraho temples, built during the reign of the Chandela Dynasty. This world heritage site, constructed in the span of 200 years, is famous for its exquisite wall carvings of erotic human figures, mythical animal figures etc. Have your lunch and get transferred to the airport to board a flight to Varanasi. On arrival, get transferred to your hotel. Leave for sightseeing covering the famous temples on the banks of river Ganga. Enjoy a walk around the busy narrow lanes and local bazaars. Stay overnight.
Day 14: Varanasi - Delhi-
Enjoy an early morning boat ride at Daswamedh Ghat, observe the rituals taking place along the banks. Have your breakfast and enjoy a day-trip to Sarnath, an important place for the followers of Buddhist religion. Visit the deer park, the ruins of the Buddhist monastery and the museum, housing a collection of Buddhist sculpture and art. In the afternoon, get an assisted transfer to the airport to board a flight to Delhi. On arrival, get transferred to your pre-booked hotel. Stay overnight.
The day, after breakfast, is fixed for sightseeing in Old and New Delhi. Today’s visits are going to include Raj Ghat, Jama Masjid, Red Fort, Humayun's Tomb, and Qutub Minar. Enjoy driving, along Rajpath, India Gate, Parliament House, the President's House and Diplomatic Enclave. Post dinner, transfer to railway station or airport.
