Itinerary

Day 1: Dimapur – Kohima

Pick up from Dimapur Airport and drive to Kohima. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. After you've freshened up, visit Kohima War Cemetery (Closed on Sundays), which has been constructed in memory of soldiers who were killed during the Second World War. It was built by the Japanese force who had invaded the place. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 2: Kohima - Dzukou Valley (45 min drive/3 hr trek)

After breakfast, drive to Viswema till the trekking point and start trekking to Dzukou valley, which lies at an altitude of 2,450 m above sea level. The nature of the trek is 35% challenging and 65% moderate/easy, which will take approximately 3-4 hours. We will come across different vegetation as we climb higher, hear and spot birds, aromatic plants, orchids, species of bamboo, etc. Lunch is on the way.

Post lunch, we shall resume the trek to Dzükou valley, a place in the valley which is of great delight for the trekkers. A place where you will feel the heights of excitement and be hypnotized by the abundance of nature's beauty beyond one's expression by words. Explore the valley where the gently rolling hills are covered with stout bamboo flowers, which from afar appear to be trim, and admire the gently flowing stream through the valley.

In the afternoon, return back to Kohima for an overnight stay.

Day 3: Kohima – Khonoma - Kohima

After having breakfast, drive to Kisema Village. Enjoy till noon. After lunch, drive to Khonoma. Khonoma is known for its past heritage of fighting and warfare. Nestled among green hills, the village is famous for its conversational ventures and was awarded the title of the first green village in the country. The village also boasts of a pool of master craftsmen, who are proficient in the art of weaving with bamboo and cane. Equilibrium and discipline are apparent in the placement of a village gate, the accurate manner in which the terrace cultivation is done. Evening return back to Kohima. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4: Kohima – Imphal (140 Kms./4 Hrs.)

Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel and leave for Imphal by surface. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. After you've freshened up, visit Shri Shri Govindajee Temple, a major attraction of the day. This magnificent Vaishnavite temple was erected during the first half of the 18th century. Dedicated to Lord Govinda and Radha, this temple stands adjacent to the former palace of the erstwhile ruler of Manipur. The evening is free at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 5: In Imphal

After breakfast, visit the well-known Keibul Lamjao National Park, famed as the world's only floating national park that is also home to Sangai - the endangered dancing species of deer. The other visits of the day include Loktak Lake, the largest freshwater lake in the North East region of India; the INA Memorial; and the Japanese War Memorial. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 6: In Imphal

Post breakfast, get a chance to visit Andro Village. Around 27 km eastwards of Imphal, this is an ancient Meiti village. During your visit to the village, you notice that the inhabitants still stick to the age-old traditions, customs, and lifestyle of their original tribes. Thereafter, you continue the city tour of Imphal, including Kangal Fort. Placed close to the right bank of the River Imphal, this palace holds religious, historical as well as archeological significance. The next visit is to the Ima Market, a market that is run by women. You can shop for household stuff, handloom, handicrafts, and much more. The last visit of the day is to the World War II cemetery. Overnight stay at a hotel.

Day 7: Imphal – Aizawl (By Flight)

Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel and transfer to the airport to catch the flight for Aizawl. Upon arrival, pick up from Aizawl Airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for leisure activities-interacting with the locals, admiring the surrounding beauty, taking a leisure walk, or tasting the local renditions. Overnight stay in Aizawl.

Day 8: Aizawl – Thenzawl (90 Kms./3 Hrs.)

After breakfast, hit the road to Thenzawl. On arrival check-in to the hotel. Later, proceed to visit Vangtawng falls. This place is located on the highest level in Mizoram. The waterfalls are surrounded by thick bamboo forests. After that, visit Tuirihiau Falls, Dilpui – a beautiful lake ideal for boating, Deer Park, and Thenzawl Golf Course. The rest of the day is free for leisure. Night stay in the hotel.

Day 9: Thenzawl – Aizawl

Today after breakfast, check-out from the hotel and leave for Aizawl. On arrival, check-in to the hotel. After you've freshened up, proceed for Reiek enroute to visit Zopar Garden and Khuangchera Cave. Reiek is a picturesque town of Mizoram that has a charm of its own. One can explore the typical Mizo village. Also, visit Reiek Peak, from where one will get a majestic 360-degree panoramic view of the surroundings. Evening return back to Aizawl for overnight stay.

Day 10: In Aizawl

After breakfast, proceed for a local sightseeing tour in Aizawl. During sightseeing, you cover the famous State Museum, Zoological Garden in Durtlang, Solomon's Temple, K V Paradise, Science Centre, Typical Mizo Village at Falkawn, and Handloom and Handicraft center. The evening is scheduled for shopping at the Bara Bazar. Overnight stay at Aizawl.

Day 11: Aizawl – Agartala (By Flight)

Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel, and transfer to the airport to connect to the flight for Agartalaay. Upon arrival, pick up from the airport and transfer to the hotel. Day 12: Agartala – Unakoti – Agartala

Post breakfast, proceed to visit Unakoti. It is a historic Shaiva pilgrimage spot and dates back as far back as the 7th – 9th century. While the marvelous rock carvings, and murals, with their primitive beauty, form the chief attraction, natural beauty because of the mountain scenery and waterfalls is an added bonus. After exploring Unakoti, return back to Agartala. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 13: Agartala – Neermahal – Udaipur - Agartala

After breakfast, proceed for a day excursion to Neermahal, which is one of the finest beauty spots of the state, situated 53 km from Agartala. The palace is so called as it is surrounded on all sides by a big lake called Rudra Sagar. The scenic beauty of the lake attracted Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya (1927-47) so much that he built a spectacular palace at the center of the lake itself, named it Neermahal (or palace in water).

After that, proceed to Udaipur. The most famous is the Tripura Sundari temple, which is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. The temple was constructed by Maharaja Dhanya Manikya Debbarma in 1501. There is a big lake beside the temple known as Kalyan Sagar. Bhubaneshwari Temple is another famous temple here. Udaipur is also known as "lake city" and has many beautiful lakes. Some of the major ones are Bijoy Sagar, Jagannath Dighi, Amar Sagar and as mentioned above, Kalyan Sagar. It also has a national library named "Nazrul Granthagar", after Kazi Nazrul Islam. In the evening, return back to Agartala for overnight stay.

Day 14: Leave Agartala
