  1. The Badrinath Dham Yatra is a popular pilgrimage journey in India, particularly among Hindus. It is one of the Char Dham Yatras, which includes visits to four sacred Hindu sites in the Uttarakhand state. Here are some of the highlights of the Badrinath Dham Yatra starting from Haridwar:
  2. Haridwar: Begin your journey from Haridwar, a holy city situated on the banks of the Ganges River. Witness the evening Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri, a mesmerizing ritual dedicated to the river goddess Ganga.
  3. Rishikesh: On the way to Badrinath, you'll pass through Rishikesh, known as the "Yoga Capital of the World." Explore the ashrams, visit the famous Ram Jhula and Laxman Jhula suspension bridges, and experience the serene atmosphere of this spiritual town.
  4. Devprayag: Stop at Devprayag, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers, where they meet to form the Ganges. The sight of the two rivers merging is considered highly auspicious.
  5. Rudraprayag: Another significant confluence, Rudraprayag is the meeting point of the Alaknanda and Mandakini rivers. Take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty and tranquility of the surroundings.
  6. Joshimath: Reach Joshimath, a picturesque town located at an altitude of 6,000 feet. It serves as the winter seat of Lord Badrinath when the temple remains closed during the winter months. You can also visit the Narsingh Temple and Kalpavriksha, an ancient tree believed to be a manifestation of Lord Vishnu.
  7. Badrinath Temple: The main highlight of the yatra is the Badrinath Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Situated on the banks of the Alaknanda River, it is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India. Seek blessings, participate in the morning and evening prayers, and witness the splendid architecture and intricate carvings of the temple.
  8. Mana Village: Pay a visit to Mana, the last village on the Indian side before the border with Tibet. It is believed to be the abode of the mythical Saraswati River and is associated with various legends and mythologies. Explore the Vyas Gufa (cave) where it is believed that the ancient sage Veda Vyasa composed the Mahabharata.
  9. Tapt Kund: Take a dip in the natural hot water springs called Tapt Kund, situated near the Badrinath Temple. The water is believed to possess healing properties and is considered sacred by devotees.
  10. Neelkanth Peak: Enjoy the breathtaking views of the majestic Neelkanth Peak, which forms a stunning backdrop to the Badrinath Temple. The peak gets its name from Lord Shiva, who is often depicted with a blue throat, symbolizing the consumption of poison.
  11. Hemkund Sahib: If time permits, you can extend your yatra to include a visit to Hemkund Sahib, a Sikh pilgrimage site located at an altitude of 15,200 feet. It is a picturesque lake surrounded by seven snow-capped mountains and is associated with Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru.
